The Accra Mining Network started as an informal mining sector group in Accra – Ghana. The group comprises mainly of Ghanaian Extractives sector professionals working all over the world. Our initial on-line presence was on LinkedIn and then Facebook.

Our first physical meeting was held at Cuzzy Bros Pub, in Osu – Accra. Members came away from the meeting describing it as “ Exceptionally Invigorating, Energetic, Charged and Inspirational”.

We subsequently decided to hold quarterly meetings to share ideas, information and news from all facets of the mining industry.  Our first speaker for our quarterly event was the Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission of Ghana, Dr. Toni Aubyn.

Members then decided to officially register the network with the Registrar General’s Department and the Accra Mining Network was thus established.

AMN is a not for profit, apolitical, non-governmental organization with a platform on which industry players meet, learn and earn.
