AMN Treasurer Elect

Yvonne Marfoa Anokwa is a self-motivated woman, creative and an achiever with a cluster of competencies including teamwork problem solving and result oriented capabilities.

She is currently the Assistant Chief Engineering Technician (GIS specialist) at Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA), having risen through the ranks for the past 16 years as a national service person. She also assists in policy making and monitoring for Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources as a Senior Research and Statistics Officer.

Yvonne holds MSc in Geo-information science and earth observation from ITC, University of Twente.

She has Diplomas in the following 

  • Environmental Management from Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands. 
  • Applications of GIS in Local Agenda 21 Processes from the University of Applied Sciences, Berlin.
  • Geological Engineering from the University of Mines and technology, UMaT, Tarkwa – Ghana.

She is also an Australian Awards Scholar with certificates in 

  • Managing Mine Closures from Murdoch University in Australia and Northwest University in South Africa; 
  • Local Economic and Social Development in Extractives focus on Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining from the University of Queensland in Brisbane.

She is or has been the Treasurer for the following :

Ghana Institution of Geoscience, 2019-date, 

The Netherlands Alumni Association of Ghana, 2017-Date; 

International Christian fellowship, Enschede, Netherlands, 2012-2013; and the Ghanaian Student Association, Enschede, Netherlands, 2012-2013.

She is the Secretary General for Association of Mine Closures Ambassadors, 2017-Date; 

a member of Accra Mining Network, 2017 to Date, a member of Women In Mining Ghana, 2016 to Date; and the External relations committee member: West African Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, 2016-Date;
