MEET AMN 2020 EXECUTIVES

98 members of Accra Mining Network voted on May 15 to May 17, 2020 to elect new executives. There were a total  of 3332 voting-rights available for grabs. Samuel Torkornoo

AMN President 

Samuel Torkornoo, AMN President elected with 89.05% YES votes from 2967 voting rights, 3% No, 8% Abstaining. Samuel is a geoscientists and the CEO of Torkornoo and Associates and was the immediate – past 2nd Vice President of AMN. He is also the Chair of the Exploration Committee at the Ghana Chamber of Mines and a council member of the Ghana Institution of Geoscientists.

Raymond Kudzawu-D’Pherdd

AMN First Vice President 

Raymond Kudzawu-D’Pherdd, AMN First Vice President elected  with 95% of YES votes from 3151 voting rights, 2% No and 3% abstaining.

He is an Exploration Geologist and currently the Country Manager of Development Minerals. He is the immediate past General Secretary of the Accra Mining Network.

Brenda Joyce

AMN Second Vice President 

Brenda Joyce, AMN 2nd Vice President elected with 95% YES votes from 3175 voting rights, 0% No, and 5% abstaining.  Brenda is an international  gemologist with passion for beneficiation and years of experience creating and marketing coins, medallions, and jewelry to worldwide consumer markets. She is a alumna of Harvard, Witts and Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Ellen Korley

AMN General Secretary  

Ellen Korley, AMN General Secretary elected with 93.10% YES votes from 3102 voting rights, 1.68% No, and 5.22% abstaining. Ellen is currently the Finance Officer for both Women in Mining and the Accra Mining Network.

Harriet Naakai Tetteh

AMN First Deputy General Secretary  

Harriet Naakai Tetteh
First Deputy General Secretary elected with 95% YES votes from 3151 voting rights, 2% No, and 3% abstaining. Harriet is a Geological Engineer.

Barbara Mantebea Owusu-Konadu

AMN Second Deputy General Secretary 

Barbara Mantebea Owusu Konadu, AMN 2nd Deputy General Secretary, with 90% YES votes from 2999 voting rights, 5% No, and 5% abstaining.

Barbara is a Mining Engineer and a certified Project Management Professional. She is a member of the Association for Project Management, UK and International Women in Mining

Yvonne Marfoa Anokwa

AMN Treasurer 

Yvonne Marfoa Anokwa
AMN Treasurer elected with 95% YES votes from 3175 voting rights, 2% No, and 3% abstaining. Yvonne is a GIS specialist at Ghana Geological Survey Authority with over 16 years experience. She is a member of the Research and Statistics Working Group at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources. She is also the Treasurer and a Council member of the Ghana Institution of Geoscientists.

Fedelix Kansake

AMN Deputy Treasurer 

Fedelix Kansake
Deputy Treasurer, elected with 96% YES votes from 3151 voting rights, 0% No, and 4% abstaining. Fedelix is a Mining Engineer at Africa Underground Mining Services (AUMS).

Diana Nkrumah

AMN Financial Secretary 

Diana Nkrumah
Financial Secretary elected with 97% YES votes from 3231 voting rights, 0% No, and 3% abstaining.
Diana is the Finance Manager at GBL but doubles as the Treasurer for Women In Mining Ghana and Accra Mining Network. She is an alumna of Yale, MIT, Temple, Legon and Valley View.

Rosemary Oppong Kwasie

AMN Deputy Financial Secretary 

Rosemary Oppong Kwasie, AMN Deputy Financial Secretary elected with 96% YES votes from 3201 voting rights, 0% No, and 4% abstaining. Rosemary is the General Secretary for Women In Mining Ghana and also the Manager of Geomaven Services. She is a product of University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa and is a member of the AMN Technical Team.

John Koomson

AMN Organizing Secretary  

John Koomson, Organizing Secretary elected with 96% YES votes from 3185 voting rights, 0% No, and 4% abstaining. John is the  Business Development Manager at Spring Couriers. He is a product of University of Liverpool, with an MSc in Computer Security. He was the Sub-Regional Coordinator of the Accra Mining Network for 5 years.

Justice Amekudi

AMN Deputy Organizing Secretary 

Justice Amekudi
Deputy Organizing Secretary elected with 95% YES votes from 3161 voting rights, 1% No, and 4% abstaining. Justice Amekudi is a senior consultant in GIS and Database Management with 26 years of experience in the mineral exploration sector. He is a member of AMN IT Team.

Edward Nii-Odartay Mills

Executive Member AMN 

Edward Nii-Odartey Mills, Executive Member elected with 96.6% YES votes from 3161 voting rights, 1% No, and 2% abstaining. Edward is a well-focused and result oriented geologist with over 25 years of experience in both exploration and mining geology, Edward has worked mainly on large scale mining projects in Ghana, Tanzania, Mali, Rwanda, DRC and Burundi, and on a copper-gold-silver project in B.C. Canada. He was the Head of Technical Team of the Accra Mining Network.
